Care Guide

Calinea pieces are made from natural fibers and pre-washed for softness from the very first use. They are designed to relax, soften, and feel more like yours with every wash. A little simple care keeps them beautiful for years.

Everyday care, in brief

• Machine wash cold to warm on a gentle cycle with like colors.
• Use a mild liquid detergent. Skip bleach, fabric softener, and optical brighteners.
• Tumble dry on low or line dry, and remove promptly to limit creasing.
• Warm iron only if you prefer a crisper finish — most pieces are meant to look relaxed.
• Wash new towels once before first use to build absorbency.

By material

Cotton muslin

Our SummerLight and Textured Muslin bedding, and the AirWeave and Aurea muslin coverlets, are made from breathable Turkish cotton muslin. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, then tumble dry low or air dry. The soft crinkle is part of the character, so there's no need to iron.

Linen-cotton blend

The Linen Blend Collection blends linen and long-staple cotton. Wash cold to warm on gentle, line dry or tumble low, and expect it to soften and relax over time. Minimal ironing keeps the lived-in look.

Lyocell

The Silken Collection is woven from plant-derived lyocell. Wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, dry on low or air dry, and avoid wringing to preserve the silky drape.

Turkish cotton towels

Cloud Waffle, Fine Weave, Maris, Luma, Miel, Florence, and our peshtemals are woven from premium Turkish cotton. Wash warm with like colors and skip fabric softener, which coats the fibers and reduces absorbency. Tumble dry low and give a shake to restore loft. Peshtemals dry quickly and can be line-dried.

Bath mats

The Haven and Marlow Check bath mats wash warm on gentle. Tumble dry low and shake out to refresh the texture.

Bathrobes

The Cloud Waffle and Côte Jacquard robes wash warm on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low and hang to finish.

Handwoven coverlets & throws

The handwoven Heritage Weave throws and coverlets are best washed cold on gentle or dry cleaned. Line dry in the shade and take care with the fringe and tassels.

A note on natural fibers

Slight variation in texture and tone, a relaxed wrinkle, and gradual softening are all signs of natural fibers doing what they do best. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and high heat to keep colors calm and fibers strong.
