A bathrobe should be light enough to wear while the coffee brews and absorbent enough to put on straight out of the shower. Ours are Turkish cotton, woven in Türkiye, five colorways in two sizes. Three are Cloud Waffle, whose honeycomb structure lifts water off skin and then dries on the hook rather than hanging heavy on you all morning. Two are Cote Jacquard, a two-tone weave with more body to it, patterned on the loom so the tones cannot rub off. Nothing here is a spa-thick terry robe, and that is deliberate.
How to choose
Think about when the robe gets worn. If it goes on wet and stays on through breakfast, waffle is right — it handles the water and then behaves like a light layer instead of a heat trap. If you picture sitting by a fire in January wearing nothing else, look elsewhere; in most homes a waffle robe is a three-season garment worn over something.
In a shared bathroom, hooks matter more than closets. This weave dries on a hook overnight, which a heavy terry robe simply will not do in a room that has had two showers run in it that morning. As a gift, a Turkish cotton bathrobe travels well and does not require knowing anyone's exact measurements. Finding your size
We make two sizes rather than four, and both are cut generously. S/M covers roughly women's 2–10 and men's small to medium; L/XL covers roughly women's 12–18 and men's large to extra-large. Between them, size down if you want a robe that stays closed while you move around, and up if you want more wrap across the front.
Height changes the fit more than width does. On someone around 5'4", S/M falls just below the knee; on someone close to 6', L/XL lands nearer mid-calf. If you are tall and slim, taking L/XL for the length is usually the better trade. Sleeves are cut straight and push up easily. When a robe is a gift and you are guessing, guess large — an oversized robe reads as intentional, a tight one never does.
Care
Wash warm, alone or with other robes, and tie the belt loosely so it cannot wrap around the drum. Skip fabric softener; it dulls the weave and cuts absorbency. Tumble dry low, take the robe out a little damp, and hang it on a broad hanger so the shoulders keep their shape. Smooth the pockets flat while damp. With regular use, wash every week or two, and more often if the robe goes on over bare skin daily.
Common questions
Is a waffle robe warm enough for winter?Worn over pajamas, yes, year-round. Worn against bare skin in a cool house it is more cover than warmth, and the Cote Jacquard has more body if that matters. The waffle's real advantage is the opposite season: it is one of the few robes bearable in August.
Which size should I buy for a man?L/XL fits most men from large through extra-large, and S/M suits smaller frames. Neither size is cut with gendered shaping, so the decision comes down to chest width and how much length you want.
How long is the robe?Below the knee for most people in S/M, and closer to mid-calf in L/XL, though your height shifts this more than the size does. Neither length is designed to reach the ankle.
Can I wear it right out of the shower?That is what the weave is for. It lifts water instead of sitting saturated against skin, so the robe feels damp for a few minutes and then dries as you wear it rather than staying cold and heavy.
