The weave
Terry robes hold heat and water; this one handles both by letting them move. Air travels through the recessed squares, which is why the cotton pulls moisture off skin and then releases it to the room instead of holding a damp weight at the shoulders. Does the robe have pockets?Yes — two at the hip, deep enough for a phone. They sit flat against the waffle rather than adding bulk, so the line of the robe stays clean when they are empty.
How quickly does it dry?Hung open on a hook in a ventilated room, usually a few hours. Left folded over a door it takes longer. Either way it beats terry, which can still be damp at the shoulders the next morning.
What about lotion, self-tanner, or bleach?Rinse self-tanner out in cold water before it sets. Oils and lotions wash out at a warm setting. Never use chlorine bleach on a dyed robe — an oxygen-based brightener is safe if the cuffs dull.
