Flourish Turkish Towel

The color

Tone on tone, the raised botanical work reads as shadow rather than color — a field of leaves that surfaces and disappears as the light moves across the room.

Against white tile it turns almost architectural; against a darker wall it lifts.

Of the three Flourish shades this is the one that behaves like a plain white towel until you look properly.

The weave

A dense cotton terry at 600 grams per square meter, with the botanical motif woven in on a jacquard loom rather than printed on afterwards. Because the pattern is built from the pile itself, the raised areas are structure and cannot wear away with washing. That relief gives the cloth grip and a light scrub as you dry, while the depth of the pile does the absorbing. Both ends are finished by hand with knotted tassels, and like all Turkish cotton it opens up over its first several washes and keeps softening from there.

Styling

This is a towel meant to be left out rather than folded away. Hung full length on a rail the tassels finish the drop, and the texture gives a plain bathroom something to look at without adding a color to the room. In a small space, white keeps the walls where they are. If the tile is already busy, Cloud White is the safe half of the collection — all the detail, none of the argument.
