Lightweight waffle weave

The making

Made slowly, in small batches.

The color

A rail done entirely in it reads considered rather than sparse, which is hotel logic applied at home: everything the same, nothing on the counter but soap, and guests never guessing which towel is theirs.

What you notice on a white towel is texture, and the waffle grid supplies plenty of it.

It also washes with your sheets and never needs sorting.

The weave

The grid is the whole point. Raised squares and shallow recesses give the cloth an open structure, so water spreads across a wide textured face and evaporates outward instead of settling deep in a pile. Less mass to saturate means a lighter towel on the rail, a shorter spin in the machine, and a cloth that is dry again by the time you need it. A stack of six takes up a fraction of the shelf terry would.

  • Raised grid and recessed squares — texture with grip to it
  • Open waffle weave, quick to dry, low-bulk
  • Fringe knotted by hand at both ends, no stitched hem

Frequently asked

Will white stay white? With basic habits, yes. Wash whites together in warm water, use an oxygen brightener when they dull, and skip fabric softener, which yellows cotton over time. Sunlight on a drying rack does more than most products do.

How does it handle skincare?Acne creams and self-tanner are the usual culprits on towels. Benzoyl peroxide does not stain white — it bleaches, so white is the safest choice you can make. Rinse self-tanner out cold before it dries.

Which set size should I buy?Two pieces per size covers one person with nothing spare. Four works for a couple. Six is what you want if you would rather not time your laundry around your shower.

The Difference is in the Cotton

Aegean cotton used in Calinea Turkish towels

The Origin

Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.

Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

Long-staple Turkish Aegean cotton fibers

The Fiber

Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.

Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel

Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.

Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
