100% Cotton Jacquard Terry

600 g/m² Dense Pile

Made in Türkiye

The making

Made slowly, in small batches.

The color

It is the shade that gives the botanical weave the most definition: the raised leaves catch light while the ground holds shadow, so the pattern is legible from across the room rather than only up close.

The weave

A dense cotton terry at 600 grams per square meter, with the botanical motif woven in on a jacquard loom rather than printed on afterwards. Because the pattern is built from the pile itself, the raised areas are structure and cannot wear away with washing. That relief gives the cloth grip and a light scrub as you dry, while the depth of the pile does the absorbing. Both ends are finished by hand with knotted tassels, and like all Turkish cotton it opens up over its first several washes and keeps softening from there.

Styling

Taupe is the practical choice in a bathroom that gets daily use — it does not show the way white does between washes, and it warms up cool grey tile without introducing a color. Pair it with unfinished wood, a stone tray, a plain white basin. If you are buying two shades, this and Cloud White stack together on a shelf without either one looking like the odd towel out.

Frequently asked

Does the texture make it less absorbent? The opposite. The raised motif is woven from the same terry pile that does the drying, so the sculpted areas add surface area rather than take it away. At 600 g/m² this is a dense, plush cloth — it holds a good deal of water, and like any towel of that weight it wants a full rail and some air to dry properly.

Will the color hold? The yarn is dyed before weaving rather than the finished cloth being printed, so the tone runs through the fiber. Expect it to settle very slightly over the first washes and then hold. Wash with like colors and skip the bleach.

Can I buy a single towel instead of a pair?Yes. Each size is sold on its own or as a set of two, and the pair works out lower per towel — $65 for two hand towels, $112 for two bath towels.

Flourish is also made in Cloud White and Soft Blush.

The Difference is in the Cotton

Aegean cotton used in Calinea Turkish towels

The Origin

Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.

Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

Long-staple Turkish Aegean cotton fibers

The Fiber

Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.

Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel

Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.

Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
