Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
Deep, faintly cool, dense enough to anchor a floor rather than float on one.
Raised detailing catches light along its ridges, which keeps a dark mat from reading as flat shadow, and the tailored border draws a clean line around the whole thing.
Underfoot it is thick, absorbent and quiet.
The weave
Peel back the tufted surface of a supermarket bath mat and you find foam or rubber holding everything together. That layer is why the care label demands a cold wash and no tumble drying, and why corners eventually go hard. Made entirely from cotton, Haven carries no such limit: launder with the towels, dry it, repeat for years. Glossy tile will want a pad.

Styling
Lower-level bathrooms are usually the problem rooms: no window, one overhead fixture, dark ceramic underfoot. This shade leans into that rather than apologizing for it. Swap the bulb for something warm, add a low brass hook and a stack of pale towels for contrast, and the darkness turns deliberate. Alongside black tapware, it ties floor to fittings.

Is it going to move on polished tile?Without rubber beneath, movement is possible on glossy surfaces, especially when wet. A thin rug pad removes the issue, and siting it directly at the shower exit rather than mid-walkway helps.
Does the color wash out?Relief here comes from the weave, not from a printed or embossed surface, so no design can rub away. Deep shades soften a touch across many washes, normal for dyed cotton.
What is a sensible wash schedule?Weekly suits most bathrooms; a shared one benefits from twice. Darker tones simply look presentable longer between washes, which is part of why people choose them.
