The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
This is terry with real depth to the pile, and Silver Stone gives that depth a cool grey cast with a faint shimmer where the loops catch light.
Wrapped around you after a long soak on a cold morning, it holds heat against the skin in a way no thin cloth manages.
A woven border runs along each end, textured in a pattern drawn from coastal forms.
The weave
Maris is built from long loops of Turkish cotton set close together, and that pile is the entire point: more surface area means more water pulled off skin in fewer passes. It is the thickest towel we make. The honest trade is drying time — a plush towel holds more moisture by design and needs longer on the rail than a flat weave, so give it room and airflow rather than folding it over.
- Deep, densely looped terry pile
- Finished with a textured coastal border
Styling
Buy these in one color and stack them face-out on an open shelf with the borders aligned; the effect lands closer to a good hotel than mixed shades manage. Silver Stone stands up to dark stone, poured concrete, and grey veined marble without turning blue. In a cool, hard-surfaced bathroom, deep pile in grey keeps the room from feeling like a locker room.
Frequently asked
Is the extra thickness worth it?Choose this line if you want thickness and warmth after a bath, and Luma if you would rather have something that packs down and clears the rail fast. Weight is the whole distinction between them.
How long does a plush towel take to dry?Longer than a flat weave, and that is the cost of the pile. Expect most of a day on a rail in a bathroom with no window, or one low-heat dryer cycle. Never fold it away damp.
How many should a bathroom hold? Two bath sizes each keeps one in use while the other dries, which matters more with terry than with thin cotton. Four covers a couple comfortably; six is the right number for a family bathroom.
The same terry is woven in Harbour Slate, Pearl Veil, and Dune Taupe.

The Difference is in the Cotton

The Origin
Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.
Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

The Fiber
Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.
Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel
Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.
Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
