Cloud Grey is pale and mineral — clean without going clinical, cool without going blue. On its own a shade this light can look thin, which is where the raised weave earns its place: the texture gives the colour depth and keeps a large bath sheet from flattening out. The border pulls in terracotta, taupe and ivory, and that warmth is what stops the whole piece from reading austere.

The weave+
Santa Fe starts from combed cotton, meaning the shorter fibers are taken out before the yarn is spun — the reason the cloth feels smooth rather than fuzzy and holds up to repeated washing. The surface is a raised textured ground rather than a flat pile, which adds body and a light grip against skin. New towels feel slightly firm; three or four cycles relax them and absorbency improves alongside.

Styling+
Cloud Grey is the safe one of the three, and that is a compliment. It reads correctly against white subway tile, honed marble, black hardware and pale wood alike, so it suits a bathroom you rent or one you have not finished deciding about. Because the border carries warm tones, it also mixes with the other two colourways instead of clashing — a grey bath towel under a Mauve Stone hand towel looks deliberate.
Good to know+
Is it good for hair?Reasonably. The textured ground blots water without the loops that catch and rough up strands, so it is gentler than standard terry. Most people use the hand towel for hair and keep the bath towel or sheet for the body.
How big is the bath sheet?35 × 59 in / 90 × 150 cm, against 28 × 55 in / 70 × 140 cm for the bath towel. That is enough to wrap an adult with room left over, but it wants a full-length rail — folded over a short bar it will stay damp.
Will a pale grey go dingy?Not if you keep it away from bleach and wash it with like colours. Warm water, mild detergent and low heat hold the shade; hot washes and heavy detergent are what dull light greys over time.
