The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
Fine golden-ochre stripes cross an undyed cream ground, finished with hand-knotted fringe for a relaxed, artisanal feel.
The weave
Flat-woven from 100% Turkish cotton rather than piled like terry, the cloth is light in the hand and quick to dry, releasing moisture into the room instead of holding on to it. A softly textured ground gives it grip and body despite the low weight, and it softens further with every wash. Absorbency comes from the weave itself rather than depth of pile, so it blots dry without ever turning heavy.
- Open, airy weave — lightweight to wrap and quick to dry
Styling
Ochre is the warmer of the two Linea colorways. Against cream tile or pale plaster it reads as a line of low sunlight rather than a bold stripe, and it sits easily with brass fittings, oak and rattan. Spread across a lounger it covers the whole seat; folded once it serves as a beach blanket for two. Keep one on a hook by the outdoor shower or rolled into a basket for summer guests — it packs to a fraction of what a terry bath sheet takes in a carry-on.
Frequently asked
Is a bath sheet too big for everyday use?Only if your rail is short. Extra width is what lets it wrap fully or cover a lounger, and because a flat weave weighs so little, it never feels bulky the way an oversized terry sheet does.
Does the color fade? The ochre stripe is yarn-dyed before weaving rather than printed on the surface, so it settles rather than lifts. Expect it to soften a shade over the first several washes and then hold.
How fast does it dry?Quickly, that's the advantage of a flat weave. With so little bulk holding water, it clears a rail or a chair back in roughly an hour outdoors — handy for a pool house or a shared summer bathroom.

The Difference is in the Cotton

The Origin
Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.
Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

The Fiber
Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.
Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel
Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.
Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
