The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
The robe has real weight to it.
Pull it on and the shoulders keep their shape instead of collapsing, while the cotton takes water off your back on the walk down the hall.
Behind a bathroom door it looks like the robe from a hotel you did not want to leave.
The weave
Jacquard means the pattern is built on the loom itself, so both tones are woven into the cloth and cannot rub off. That construction gives the robe its structured hand; it drapes with some body rather than clinging. Turkish cotton keeps the whole thing absorbent, which is why it does real work between the shower and getting dressed. Repeated laundering softens the surface without loosening the shape.
- Two-tone jacquard, woven into the cloth rather than printed
Styling
Salt Stone suits the cold half of the year and the slow half of the morning: coffee before anyone else is awake, hair still wet, forty minutes before you have to be dressed. The grey belongs in bathrooms that lean cool — white subway tile, chrome, a slate mat underfoot. Two of them on facing hooks makes a shared room look considered rather than merely shared.
Frequently asked
What size robe should I buy?Two sizes cover the range: S/M and L/XL. If you fall between them, size up. A robe with enough room to cross over the front stays closed and feels less like a jacket.
Does the jacquard texture flatten? The pattern is structural, not a printed or pressed finish, so the texture survives laundering. Skip fabric softener, which coats cotton fibers and dulls both the surface and its absorbency.
Can it go in the dryer?Yes, on low. A warm machine cycle and low heat afterward is the entire routine. High heat is the one thing to avoid, since it stiffens cotton over the long run.
The warmer colorway is Salt & Sand.
