Waffle vs. Plush vs. Fine Weave: Which Turkish Cotton Towel Is Right for You?
Waffle: light, breathable, quick-drying

Waffle (honeycomb) weave uses a textured grid instead of dense terry loops. That makes it lightweight and fast-drying, while still absorbing well — the honeycomb pockets hold water without weighing the towel down. It's the easiest towel to hang and dry between uses, which makes it a good fit for smaller bathrooms or warmer climates. Our Cloud Waffle and Miel Waffle towels are woven from long-staple Turkish cotton in exactly this weave.
Plush: dense, absorbent, enveloping

Plush towels use a denser pile for maximum softness and absorbency — the towel you reach for when you want something substantial straight out of the shower. It takes a little longer to dry than waffle, but the trade-off is a heavier, more enveloping feel. The Maris Plush Towel adds a decorative textured border on top of that dense weave.
Fine Weave: smooth, refined, hotel-like

Fine Weave sits between the two — a tighter, smoother construction with a matte, refined hand feel rather than a raised texture. It's the closest to a classic hotel towel: clean-looking, soft without being bulky, and available from washcloth up to bath sheet sizes in the Fine Weave Towel collection.

Which should you choose?
- Warm climate, small bathroom, or you like a quick-drying towel → waffle.
- You want the most absorbent, spa-like wrap → plush.
- You prefer a clean, hotel-fresh look and feel → fine weave.
All three are woven from the same long-staple Turkish cotton and OEKO-TEX® certified — the difference is entirely in the weave, not the fiber quality.
