The making

Made slowly, in small batches.

The color

The honeycomb cells catch just enough shadow to keep the surface from going flat, and the woven border sits a shade darker, drawing a quiet line along the hem.

It picks up light from a morning window and holds it low and matte, with no sheen at all.

The weave

Miel's honeycomb face is what makes it behave the way it does. The raised grid creates hundreds of small pockets; water moves into them and air moves through them, which is why the cotton takes on a lot without ever feeling heavy. On the rail it hangs light and releases moisture instead of holding it. Washing only loosens the weave further.

Styling

Cloud White is the color that disappears into a room on purpose. It sits easily beside marble, white tile and chrome, and it carries just enough warmth not to fight beige floors or yellowish light. Hang one bath towel and one hand towel per person, add a woven basket for the spares, and the room looks composed without a single fixture being touched.

Frequently asked

Will the color stay white?Yes, with one rule: skip the bleach. It is the first thing people reach for on a white towel and it yellows cotton over time. Wash cold with like tones, dry on low, and Cloud White stays where it started.

How is this different from the Cloud Waffle towel? Both are waffle, but Miel is the honeycomb-celled one, with a quieter, more muted color range and a lower price on the hand towel at $24. Choose Miel for texture that stays subdued.

How does it wash?Normal cycle, warm or cold water, tumble on low. Run the first load on its own, keep the machine from being packed tight, and take the towels out while barely warm so the cells do not set flat.

The same waffle is woven in Mineral Grey, Dusty Rose, Ash Slate, Moonstone and Weathered Taupe.

The Difference is in the Cotton

Aegean cotton used in Calinea Turkish towels

The Origin

Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.

Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

Long-staple Turkish Aegean cotton fibers

The Fiber

Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.

Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel

Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.

Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
