The color
Under the raised honeycomb the color varies slightly from cell to cell, which keeps a large bath towel from looking flat.
There is a practical side too: water marks and everyday use disappear into it, so a hand towel by a busy sink still looks intentional at the end of the day.
The weave
The face of the cloth is a grid of raised honeycomb cells, and that structure does the work. More surface area means water is taken up fast, while the open channels between cells keep air moving so the cotton is never left sitting damp. The towel is noticeably light for its size, and each trip through the machine relaxes the cells a little more.

Styling
This is the shade that makes sense in a bathroom that gets used hard. Order the set of six in hand towels for a family of four and rotate three at a time; the darker grey carries the in-between days.
