Who it suits
Oily or combination skin, backs and shoulders, and anyone who works with their hands. It contains goat milk, sweet almond oil and tea tree oil, so it is not vegan, not for tree nut allergies, and not the one to start with if your skin is very reactive. For the gentlest option in the range, Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
How it's made
Cold-process: the soap is made at low temperature and left to cure for weeks rather than pushed through heat and pressing. The formula is calculated with a 5 percent superfat, so a share of the oils stays unsaponified in the finished bar, which is part of why it feels softer than a commercial soap. The charcoal is swirled in by hand at the last moment, so the pattern is different in every bar.

Ingredients
Olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, sweet almond (Prunus dulcis) oil, castor oil, tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil, goat milk, activated charcoal, aqua.
Allergens
Contains goat milk and almond (tree nut). Not vegan. Contains tea tree oil, which some people react to.
Weight
Approximately 110 g. Every bar is cut by hand, so weight and pattern vary slightly.
Caution
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse with plenty of water if it happens. Tea tree oil can irritate sensitive skin, so patch test on a small area first and stop using it if irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of children.

Keep the bar on a draining dish away from the direct spray and let it dry between uses. A cold-process bar left in standing water softens and disappears quickly.

Charcoal is what makes it feel clarifying, goat milk and sweet almond oil are what stop it feeling stripping, and the three together are why this bar works on skin that is oily in places and dry in others.
The colour is the charcoal itself, with no colourant added.
Frequently asked
How long does one bar last?Six to eight weeks of daily use in the shower, if it is kept dry between washes. Left sitting in water it can be gone in under three. A draining dish is the whole difference.
Does the black leave marks on a light cloth or basin?No. The charcoal is bound into the soap and rinses away with the lather. A dark ring can build up on a dish that never dries, which washes off.
Can I use it on my face?Yes, and it is a good face bar for oily skin, but the tea tree oil makes it the wrong choice for reactive skin. Start with Extra Virgin Olive Oil if you are unsure.
