The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
It is the LoftWeave shade that goes with almost everything already in a bedroom, which is either its limitation or its whole point.
The quilted grid and the crinkled muslin give the color enough texture to stay interesting up close, and the fabric falls in loose, uneven folds rather than lying tight.
The weave
Four layers of Turkish cotton muslin are the whole of it, held together by a light run of quilting. The stitching gives the stack structure and keeps the layers aligned, while leaving enough air between them to hold a little heat. Nothing here is dense — the coverlet breathes the way single-layer muslin does, and the weight in your hands is far less than the warmth would lead you to expect.

Styling
Because it is neutral, Dune is the coverlet to buy if you change bedding often. It sits under a white summer sheet set and over a deeper winter one without anything else needing adjustment. In a guest room it saves a decision: leave it folded at the foot of a made bed and it works whether the visitor wants an extra layer or just something to fold back.
Frequently asked
Is it warm enough alone in winter? That depends on the room. In a mild climate it can be the only layer through the year. Where winters bite, use it above a duvet; it adds warmth without making the bed feel heavy.
Will the quilting bunch up?The quilting holds four flat muslin layers, not fill, so there is nothing to shift or clump. Repeated washing loosens the surface and adds crinkle, but the stitched structure keeps the layers lying evenly against each other.
How does it wash?Warm or cold water, low tumble. Take it out slightly damp if you want fewer creases. It leaves the machine soft, and a firm shake reopens the layers before you spread it on the bed.
