100% Turkish Cotton Muslin

Lightly quilted four-layer weave

Made in Türkiye

The making

Made slowly, in small batches.

The color

Depending on the hour it can look like unbleached cotton or like the inside of a shell.

On the bed, the quilting grid catches enough shadow to give the pale color definition, and the muslin's crinkle keeps the surface from looking flat or hotel-smooth.

This is the softest, most forgiving shade in the range.

The weave

The construction is simple and does a lot of work. Four layers of soft Turkish cotton muslin, quilted lightly so they behave as one cloth, hold pockets of still air between them. That is where the warmth comes from — not from thickness, but from the space the layers keep open. Air passes through freely, so it never overheats, and the finished piece weighs very little for the cover it provides.

  • Four soft muslin layers, lightly quilted for structure

Styling

In a small bedroom, a pale top layer buys back space. Shell keeps the bed quiet enough that the rest of the room can carry the interest — an art print, a patterned rug, a stack of books. It layers easily too: put it over a white duvet in the colder months and the pink undertone stops an all-white bed from turning severe.

Frequently asked

Does it fit a King bed? This coverlet is produced in a single Queen size (86 × 94 in). On a King frame the coverage falls short at the sides, so treat it as a folded accent across the end of the bed instead of the layer you sleep under.

Quilted or unquilted coverlet — which?Aurea, the unquilted muslin coverlet, costs $189 and suits warm rooms and summer sleeping. This one has four layers held by quilting, which gives it more structure, a little more warmth, and a longer season of use.

Will it feel too light in a cold bedroom? On its own in a cold bedroom, probably. LoftWeave is built to be featherlight and warms by holding air rather than by mass, so through winter most people layer it over a duvet and keep it as the top surface.

The coverlet also comes in Terra, Olive and Dune. See the full collection.
