The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
A cool grey ground pushes the woven stripe into clearer relief, and the pattern becomes legible from across a room instead of only up close.
Handweaving keeps the surface alive; you can see the slight unevenness of the weft when the cloth lies flat under morning light.
Folded over the arm of a sofa, it draws a horizontal line that makes the whole arrangement look finished.
The weave
Each length comes off a hand loom, worked by a weaver instead of a machine, and the cloth keeps the evidence: some texture under the palm, small variations in the stripe. Cotton fiber lets air pass through, which is why the piece never feels heavy or airless. Its drape is generous enough to fall over the side of a chair in soft folds rather than sticking out.
- Cool grey handwoven cotton with a woven stripe throughout
Styling
Grey does the work a strong accent color usually has to. In a room of pale walls and wood floors, the cool tone stops everything going flat — over the back of a sofa, across a reading chair, or folded in thirds at the foot of the mattress for a made look. If you want the same cloth to cover the whole bed, that is the coverlet.
Frequently asked
What is the difference between the throw and the coverlet? The throw is 160 × 220 cm — a sofa, a chair, or one person on a couch. The coverlet is 200 × 240 cm, sized to cover a queen mattress and reach down the sides. Same cloth, two scales.
Is it warm enough on its own?In a warm room or a warm season, yes — cotton holds a little heat without smothering. Through winter, treat it as the layer that goes over a duvet rather than the only cover.
