The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
Handweaving leaves the surface faintly irregular, so light moving through a room over the course of a day picks up different parts of it.
Thrown across the arm of a sofa the cloth holds soft folds instead of standing stiff.
Being cotton, it breathes enough to keep on your lap in a warm room.
The weave
Every Heritage piece is woven by hand on a loom, which is why the surface stays textured rather than flat and why no two lengths come out identical. Small shifts in the stripe, or a thicker slub in the yarn, are the record of that process. The cotton breathes, so the cloth carries across seasons, and there is enough drape to fall around furniture or a body instead of sitting on top.

Styling
Oat Veil belongs in the room where you actually sit. Fold it over the back of a linen sofa, or leave it in a basket beside a reading chair with the lamp low behind you. Cream works against nearly any upholstery, but it earns the most against darker fabric — navy or olive gives the stripe something to read against. Add the coverlet later for the bed.

What is the difference between the throw and the coverlet?The throw is 160 × 220 cm — a sofa, a chair, or one person on a couch. The coverlet is 200 × 240 cm, the bed layer, meant to cover a mattress rather than a lap. Plenty of people end up with both.
Will a handwoven piece vary from the photo?Slightly, and it should. Loom-woven cloth carries small differences in texture and stripe spacing from one length to the next. Color and pattern hold; the fine detail is never mechanically identical.
Does it work year-round?Cotton breathes, so it does not trap heat the way wool will. It layers over a duvet through winter and stands alone as a summer cover in a room that runs warm.
