The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
Run a hand across the pile and it gives the way velvet does, dense and warm rather than slick.
Along the folded edge, the embroidered border catches a thin line of shadow.
Hung on a rail in a small morning bathroom, it keeps the room feeling unhurried instead of styled.
The weave
Long-staple cotton is combed before spinning, which pulls out the shorter fibers and leaves a yarn that holds a dense, even pile. That pile is what gives Florence its velvety surface and its willingness to drink up water. Embroidery is worked along the border rather than applied on top. The first few washes relax the finish, and the towel grows softer through its first season of use rather than thinner.

Styling
Mist earns its keep in a half bath, where there is room for one rail and little else. Pair a single hand towel with an aged mirror, a stone soap dish, and wall paint in the chalky range — the towel becomes the softest thing in a hard-surfaced room. Because the grey holds so little saturation, it sits comfortably beside cream walls and cooler blue-grey paint alike.
Frequently asked
Hand towel or bath towel — how many do I need? Most bathrooms run two bath towels and two hand towels for each person using the room daily. If you host often, keep an extra pair of hand towels folded somewhere close by.
Does it shed or lint?Combed cotton sheds far less than carded cotton, though expect a little loose fiber over the first two or three dryer cycles. Wash it separately at the start and it settles quickly.
Florence Heirloom also comes in Bare Blush, Alabaster and Mineral.

The Difference is in the Cotton

The Origin
Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.
Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

The Fiber
Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.
Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel
Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.
Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
