Luma Turkish Towel

SOFT
NEW COLOR
The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
Folded over a wooden rail in a small bathroom, it reads as texture more than as color.
The cotton is thin enough to hang in soft vertical folds, and the fringe breaks the line at the bottom the way a runner finishes a table.
Nothing about it announces itself.
The weave
Luma is the light end of our towel range. A flat, low-pile Turkish cotton weave means less bulk in the hand, faster drying on the rail, and a towel that folds down to almost nothing in a linen closet. It dries you by contact rather than by soaking, which suits anyone who dislikes heavy terry. The knotted fringe is part of the structure, closing the cut edges instead of a stitched hem.
- Soft, low-pile weave with a hand-knotted fringe at both ends
Styling
Because the shade sits so close to plaster and unfinished wood, this works in bathrooms that have no scheme at all — a rental with beige tile, say, where bright white would look clinical. Hang two on a single hook and let the fringe stack. If your walls run cool, the warmth here does the correcting for you. It also looks right rolled into an open basket beside the tub.
Frequently asked
Plush or lightweight — which should I pick?If being enveloped after a bath is the goal, choose Maris. This line suits people who want something that dries quickly, packs small, and never sits heavy on the rail. Plenty of households keep both and split them by bathroom.
Does the fringe fray? Each fringe is knotted rather than cut, so it holds together. Expect slight loosening at the tips over the first few washes, which is simply how a twisted fringe settles. Comb the strands straight with your fingers while damp.
How many towels per person? Two bath towels and two hand towels each covers a normal laundry cycle, with one in use and one clean. A set of four handles a couple; six suits a family or a guest bathroom in steady rotation.
Luma is also woven in Oat Veil, Silver Mist, and Rose Taupe.

The Difference is in the Cotton

The Origin
Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.
Grown along Türkiye's Aegean coast, Aegean cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers and naturally smooth hand — the same qualities that make Turkish cotton towels a benchmark for softness worldwide. For Calinea, this premium cotton is the foundation of every bath towel we make.

The Fiber
Long-Staple Cotton Fibers, Built to Last.
Long-staple cotton fibers spin into smoother, stronger yarns with less bulk than standard cotton — a cleaner weave and a silkier surface that holds up wash after wash.

The Feel
Highly Absorbent, Sustainably Grown Cotton.
Aegean cotton creates plush, highly absorbent bath towels without the heaviness of standard terry cloth — sustainably grown and finished without harsh chemicals.
