The embroidery
The botanical band is stitched onto a flat woven panel rather than into the pile, because a raised loop will not hold a fine line. That panel is what gives the leaves their crispness. Each frond is drawn three times over — an outline, a filled body, then the veining laid on top in a lighter thread that picks up the light and stops the motif from reading as a flat silhouette. The palette is deliberately narrow: taupe, greige, and a brown so dark it acts as the drawing's pencil line. Embroidery is thread, not print, so it will not crack or fade off the cloth; wash it as you would the towel and it ages at the same rate.

The making
Made slowly, in small batches.
The color
The ground is dense combed Turkish terry — 550 grams per square meter, deep enough to sink a hand into — carrying a fine allover jacquard that gives the pile texture before any thread is added.
Then, above the hem, a flat woven band and the embroidery itself: leaves and fronds worked in taupe, warm grey and a darker stem brown, with a thread that catches the light running through the veining.
Nothing about it is loud.
From the doorway you see a cream towel with a band; up close you see that the band is stitched, and that each leaf has been outlined, filled and veined separately.
Cloud White here is a warm cream rather than a bright white, which is what lets those tonal neutrals sit on it without contrast — the pattern belongs to the cloth instead of sitting on top of it.
The weave
Combed cotton is cotton drawn through a comb before spinning, so the short fibers are pulled out and only the long ones are twisted into yarn. Fewer loose ends means less lint in the first months, a smoother hand, and loops that keep their shape through years of washing. At 550 g/m² Folia is a genuinely plush towel — substantial when you lift it, slower on the rail than a waffle would be, and that density is exactly what makes it absorbent. It is the towel for a long bath rather than a quick rinse.
- Combed Turkish cotton — longer, smoother fibers for an exceptionally soft, durable towel
- Plush terry weave — dense, velvety loops with a soft, luxurious hand
- Highly absorbent — designed to dry comfortably and efficiently
- Soft yet substantial — plush and indulgent without feeling overly heavy
Styling
This is the towel for a bathroom that is otherwise plain — white tile, marble, a stone counter with no pattern in it. The embroidered band gives the room one considered detail without introducing a color, which is why it works where a stripe or a bold border would not. It also makes an obvious gift: a hand towel and a bath towel together read as something chosen rather than something bought. Keep the embroidered end facing out when you fold it over a rail.
Frequently asked
Will the embroidery survive washing?Yes. It is stitched, not printed, and worked on a flat woven panel that does not distort in the wash. Wash cold or warm with like colors and skip the fabric softener — softener coats thread and cotton alike and dulls both.
Is Cloud White a bright white? No — it is a warm cream. That is deliberate: the embroidery is worked in tonal neutrals, and on an optical white ground those threads would look grey rather than soft.
Does a plush towel take longer to dry?It does, and that is the trade. Density is what makes the cloth absorbent — a deeper pile holds more water and releases it over a longer hang.

The Difference is in the Cotton

The Origin
Why Turkish Aegean Cotton Towels Feel Unrivaled.
