Folia Embroidered Towel

The color

What it does to the embroidery is the point of buying this colorway instead of Cloud White.

The botanical band is worked in taupe and greige, and on cream those threads sit slightly darker than the ground; here they are almost the same tone as the cloth they are stitched into.

The pattern stops being a drawing and becomes texture: you see it as light and shadow across the leaves, and only close up as leaves at all.

Underneath, the same 550 g/m² combed Turkish terry with its fine allover jacquard, and the same flat woven panel that holds the stitching crisp.

This is the quieter half of Folia — the one for a room where the towel should not be the first thing you notice.

The weave

Combed cotton is cotton drawn through a comb before spinning, so the short fibers are pulled out and only the long ones are twisted into yarn. Fewer loose ends means less lint in the first months, a smoother hand, and loops that keep their shape through years of washing. At 550 g/m² Folia is a genuinely plush towel — substantial when you lift it, slower on the rail than a waffle would be, and that density is exactly what makes it absorbent. It is the towel for a long bath rather than a quick rinse.

Styling

Oat sits where cream can look stark: against warm timber, travertine, unpainted plaster, brass. It is also the more forgiving of the two in a bathroom in daily use — a pale warm tone shows a damp mark far less than a true cream does. Pair it with Cloud White if you want the rail to have two tones; buy it alone if the room already has enough going on and you want the towel to disappear into it.
